Local Footy Pays Out
Pringles Ag Plus was pleased to present a $1000 cheque to Joy Cox of Port Neill. Joy was the lucky winner of the second chance cash draw for the Get Behind Local Footy promotion which ran during the 2011 football and netball season. To add to the excitement of the football finals, draws were held in the clubs across Eyre Peninsula who had received a John Deere push mower to raffle. Club winners were – Matthew Quinn (Cleve), Dick Linton (Cowell), Brian Stringer (Ports –Arno Bay), Michael Weiss (Rudall), Michael Green (Cummins-Kapinnie), Cody Mason (Eyre United), Natalie Cunningham (Lock), Greg Fitzgerald (Ramblers), Julie Reynolds Rowe (United Yeelanna), Lynette Sampson (Central Eyre), Marie Clarke (Elliston), Wayne Guidera (West Coast Hawks), Julie Gill (Western Districts), Sharon Ryan (Wirrulla), Dennis Boylan (Wudinna), Graeme Smith (Marble Range). Pringles Ag Plus Continues its Commitment to Farming
Behind the name Pringles Ag Plus is a bloke who started his working life as a shearer in Western Australia. Jim Pringle married Shirley, a local Wudinna girl, in 1956 when machines were smaller and farming was nowhere near as sophisticated as it is today. Pringles Garage started in 1961 as a one-stop shop servicing farmers in the local region. Jim recognised an opportunity and took on selling big agricultural machinery under an internationally franchised brand. Focusing on customer service, the business built strong, lasting relationships and today, is the largest John Deere dealership on the Eyre Peninsula with bases at Wudinna, Cleve, Kimba and Cummins. Company directors Rick Du Bois, Craig Walker and Harry Redding took over the reins in the mid 90s when Jim and Shirley retired and renamed it Pringles Ag Plus in 1999. Pringles Ag plus is giving back to local clubs this football and netball season.
The leading John Deere supplier in the Eyre Peninsula is supporting eighteen sporting clubs with a sponsorship program designed to help the clubs raise more money. “We’ve been supporting local clubs in the Eyre Peninsula for 50 years. This year we wanted to provide a more sustainable solution and so we’ve designed a sponsorship program which is a great way for the clubs to earn more dollars and also that gets the whole community and each individual club involved.”
Part of the raffle prize is a John Deere push lawn mower given to each club and to sweeten the pot, one lucky winner will walk away with a grand prize of $1,000. Each football club will draw a ticket at the end of the season to decide the winner of the John Deere mower and a second ticket will be drawn from each club and these tickets will be drawn live on 5CC on grand final day to determine the lucky $1,000 winner.
